Best Steam Oven In Singapore 2026

A steam oven earns its counter space if you steam fish, buns or rice often, or you’re tired of leftovers drying out in the microwave. Steam keeps food moist while it heats, and most of these ovens also bake and roast like a normal oven, so one box can replace two.

We picked 6 steam ovens sold in Singapore, from a S$99 toast-and-steam oven to Sharp’s 31 L Healsio at around S$1,170. We compared them on what matters in a Singapore kitchen: size, steam features, temperature range, warranty and price in SGD.

How We Picked

We looked at countertop steam ovens you can buy in Singapore and compared their published capacity, steam features, temperature range, power, size, warranty and price. The figures quoted are official specifications listed by the makers and retailers.

What to Look for in a Steam Oven in Singapore

  • Capacity. 12–18 L suits one or two people and small dishes. 20 L suits 1 to 3 people. 30–31 L suits a family or bigger trays. Remember to check the inside height too, not just the litres.
  • Real steam oven or toaster with steam. A full steam oven has a water tank and dedicated steam modes. A toast-and-steam oven like the Toyomi adds a splash of water for moisture, which helps with reheating bread and pastries but isn’t the same as steaming fish.
  • Steam type. Most steam ovens make steam at around 100 °C. Superheated steam, used in Sharp’s Healsio range, heats the steam further so it can also roast and crisp.
  • Temperature range. Look for convection up to at least 230 °C for baking and roasting. The Panasonic NU-SC280W goes to 250 °C.
  • Size and weight. HDB and condo counters are tight. The ovens here run from 4.25 kg to 25 kg. Measure width, depth and height, and leave space around the oven for steam and heat.
  • Cleaning. Steam means water, and water means scale. Use filtered water if the maker suggests it, and look for a descaling or cleaning mode.
  • Power and plug. Singapore uses 230 V and 3-pin plugs. Buy a Singapore-version unit for the right plug and local warranty.
  • Local warranty. Opt for local warranty whenever possible.

Cons

Sharp’s Healsio range is built around superheated steam: steam heated well past boiling so it can roast and crisp as well as steam. The Sharp AX-1700VM is the 31 L Healsio sold in Singapore, and it’s the most serious cooking machine on this list. Harvey Norman lists superheated steam, steam, grill, roast, bake, proof, defrost and reheat, with upper and lower cooking at the same time.

On paper the power is split three ways: 800 W steam, 1,350 W convection and a 900 W grill. It has a large display with rotary keys, and 2 baking trays and 1 rack come in the box. It’s also the priciest and heaviest pick at S$1,169. At 25 kg in a 500 mm-wide body, it needs a sturdy counter.

Pros

  • Real steam oven in 18 L, good for one or two people
  • Dual water tanks that separate clean and waste water
  • 43 menus and a 12-hour preset
  • 2-year warranty stated by TJean

Cons

  • No published temperature range, wattage or dimensions
  • Warranty support is not local

The TJean LumiBake S1 is an 18 L steam-and-roast oven aimed at couples and small flats. It sits between the tiny Toyomi and the 20 L Toshiba, and it’s a real steam oven: TJean says it uses high-temperature direct steam, with dual water tanks that keep clean and waste water apart so nothing stands in the unit.

It has a decent feature list for the size. PID temperature control (TJean claims ±1–2 °C), 3D circulating hot air, a 304 stainless steel cavity, 43 menus and a 12-hour preset timer, so breakfast buns can be ready when you wake up. It also does fermentation, defrosting and keep-warm.

TJean’s official site defaults to Malaysia, and it doesn’t publish the temperature range, wattage, size or weight. Its 2-year warranty is stated with Malaysian support.

Toyomi 12L Classic Toast & Steam Oven (TO 1230ST) — Best Toaster-Oven Swap

Toyomi 12L Classic Toast & Steam Oven (TO 1230ST)

Specifications

  • Model: TO 1230ST (Matte White or Matte Dark Grey)
  • Type: Toaster oven with steam function
  • Capacity: 12 L
  • Steam: Add 2–3 caps of water through the refill cap
  • Temperature: Up to 230 °C
  • Timer: Up to 60 minutes
  • Power: 1,300 W (three heaters); 220–240 V
  • Accessories: Baking tray, pizza pan, rack, tongs; detachable crumb tray
  • Size (W × D × H): 375 × 210 × 210 mm (as listed)
  • Weight: 4.25 kg net
  • Warranty: Register at toyomi.com.sg (term not stated)
  • Price: S$99 (Metro)

Pros

  • Cheapest on this list at S$99
  • Smallest and lightest at 4.25 kg
  • Steam adds moisture when reheating bread and leftovers
  • Accessories included: tray, pizza pan, rack and tongs

Cons

  • Not a full steam oven: no water tank or steam-only mode
  • Small 12 L cavity
  • Warranty term not stated

The Toyomi TO 1230ST is a toaster oven that can steam, not a full steam oven, and that’s exactly its appeal. Pour 2–3 caps of water into the refill valve and it adds steam while it heats, which helps leftover bread, pastries and chicken come back soft instead of dry. Skip the water and it works as a normal 12 L toaster oven up to 230 °C.

It’s the cheapest and smallest pick here: S$99 at Metro, 4.25 kg, and 375 × 210 × 210 mm. Power is 1,300 W from three heaters, there’s a 60-minute timer, and it comes with a baking tray, pizza pan, rack and tongs. A removable crumb tray and cool-touch handle make it easy to live with.

Just keep expectations in check. There’s no proper water tank or steam-only mode, so it won’t steam fish the way the Panasonic or Toshiba can.

Our Verdict

For most Singapore homes, the Panasonic 31L Cubie (NU-SC280W) is the best all-rounder: 31L, 2-level cooking, 50–250 °C and over 70 auto menus for less than $800. If budget is a concern, the Toshiba MS3-STQ20SE is the cheapest full-size steam oven here, and the Toshiba MS5-STR30SE gives a family 30L with app control for arounf $600. The Sharp Healsio AX-1700VM is the one for keen cooks who want superheated steam. The TJean LumiBake S1 suits small households and the Toyomi TO 1230ST is a S$99 upgrade on a plain toaster oven, not a true steam oven.

FAQ

What’s the difference between a steam oven and a toaster oven with steam?

A steam oven has a water tank and dedicated steam modes, so it can steam fish, buns and rice properly, and most also bake with convection heat. A toaster oven with steam, like the Toyomi, adds a little water for moisture while it toasts or bakes. It’s great for reheating, but it isn’t a full steamer.

What is superheated steam?

It’s steam heated well above 100 °C. Because it’s so hot, it can roast and crisp food as well as steam it. Sharp’s Healsio range, including the AX-1700VM, is built around it.

What size steam oven do I need?

12 to 18L suits one or two people and small dishes. 20L suits 1 to 3 people. 30 to 31L suits a family for cooking a whole fish or bigger trays. Check the inside height as well as the litres.

How much does a steam oven cost to run?

SP Group’s tariff for October to December 2026 is 31.16 cents/kWh including GST. A 1,300 W oven running flat out for an hour costs about S$0.41, and a 1,500 W Toshiba about S$0.47. Most cooking takes less than an hour, and the oven cycles its heat.

Do steam ovens need cleaning?

Yes. Water leaves scale over time, so it is recommended to follow the cleaning instructions in each operational manual. It is recommended to use distilled or filtered water. Always wipe the interior of the oven after steaming so moisture doesn’t sit inside.

Can a steam oven bake and roast, or only steam?

Most can do both. The Panasonic NU-SC280W bakes up to 250 °C, the Toshiba MS5 and Toyomi up to 230 °C, and the Sharp Healsio roasts with superheated steam and convection.
